Welcome to the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Program at Westchester Medical Center, the flagship of the WMCHealth Network. Our program is a fully comprehensive, patient-centered experience, and the only one based in Westchester County with a full service satellite office in Long Island. Under the leadership of Srihari S. Naidu, MD, our program is devoted to treating patients and families from the tri-state area and beyond, offering expert, specialized services that address all facets of the disease. The two primary tenets of our program are its one-stop-shop approach to patient care, without the need to refer patients elsewhere for any service, and its goal of providing patients and referring physicians with 24/7 access through two dedicated HCM coordinators, a team of expert HCM physicians, and dedicated HCM email addresses and phone numbers.

Valhalla, New York is a hamlet in central Westchester County, which is a suburban enclave just north of New York City. Long Island Sound borders the county on the east, while the Hudson River is to the west. In Norse mythology, Valhalla is the realm of the gods, and while there are no gods to speak of, many celebrities have called this area their home. In fact, historic mansions with famous owners abound. You may even recognize one such location; Lyndhurst Mansion was recently featured in HBO’s The Gilded Age. Valhalla’s Kenisco cemetery was founded in 1889 and is something of an A-list burial site, with Lou Gehrig, Danny Kaye, Soupy Sales, Anne Bancroft, and many more finding their final resting place there. Westchester is also home to Carvel, which hosted its first ice cream truck in 1929.
Westchester has four very distinct seasons, including cold and snowy winters, hot and humid summers, and fall/spring weather that varies widely. Don’t forget to check the weather a few days before you visit.

There are plenty of lodging options in both Valhalla, NY and Garden City, NY. The Center of Excellence is located in the central Westchester County, just north of White Plains, as well as in western Long Island. Click on the tabs above for our specific recommendations.

- The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy program at Westchester Medical Center is located at 100 Woods Road, Valhalla, NY 10595. Check-in is at Desk B in the waiting room on the first floor. - Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley (914-493-6455)
- Located steps away from Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital in parking lot #4. The house is a temporary home away from home, providing a supportive and comforting environment for families of critically ill or traumatically injured children. The Ronald McDonald House offers overnight accommodations, meals, laundry, and respite services, helping to ease some of the burdens families experience when faced with their child’s medical treatment.
- Families with a hospitalized child 22 years old or younger are eligible to apply. Housing is provided for family members or others who will be directly involved with the daily support of the patient. Families can request a room online and will be contacted via phone when a room becomes available. Families may also utilize the Day Program to receive meals, snacks, use laundry facilities, and rest while remaining close to their child at the hospital.

There is a "hospital rate" of $120/night plus tax; you will need to show proof, such as a letter from a doctor or a visitor pass, in order to receive that rate. The "hospital rate" only applies to double rooms, which have a sofa chair, microwave, and mini fridge. Regular suites have kitchenettes, and bedroom suites have a full kitchen. Free self-parking is available on site.
